Was good now not for professionals I have 2 major gripes with notability and they are pretty big ones.
1. The iCloud sync doesn’t work properly. If you have the iCloud sync function activated and you don’t have many notes or your iCloud storage is really large then this function works almost perfectly. However if you don’t than this is a nightmare!
A)With iCloud sync it has doubled my 2000 note library to 4000 creating duplicates which you have to erase manually.
B)Been fully synced at night pulled out the iPad for work and had to spend the whole day syncing again (no work possible, no access to syncing notes). This has happened on multiple occasions.
Solution: turn off iCloud sync. Yes but that doesn’t allow you to keep a proper backup.
2. The backup system The system does allow you to back up to cloud storage (box, Dropbox etc.) but this is dangerous.
a) imagine a folder that says notability then just dumps all your subjects in there and doesn’t separate by divider lol you do in the program. Eg meeting>important>files you at left with just important>files. No top level separation.
b) A restore has to be done file by file when iCloud is not used. You have 2000 files like me there is a problem and you loose everything. You have to go through the process 2000 times to restore back to how it was. No batch function.
C) No back up to the external hdd (NAS yes plug in one, no). Support for it coming in the future??? It keeps on getting removed from the future road map by important things like. Ability to insert a transparent image or the ability to use your finger to erase while writing with the Apple Pencil. (Come on!!!!)
