- These apps changed my language ability A LOT! I have downloaded and used TEDICT for more than 3 years. I listened to Ted talks almost every day. After 6 months, my English had already changed a lot. I can guess the idea as well as the academic words of different voices, even though the speakers are not native. I have still used it till now and I think this really a good way to change listening as well as the vocabulary of many people if you work really assiduously. As for the Mediadict, I have been waiting for the official version for all 3 years long. I am a language learner and besides English, I also learn some others such as Japanese, Chinese, Spanish, and maybe German in the future, then I am really interested in an app that is the same as TEDICT but could be used for learning other languages. And finally today I got it. There are many languages included in the app that I need, not too many but enough. And I hope the app would be improved someday in the future in terms of adding more languages.

- YouTube動画をインポートする方法 追記: YouTubeのURLを入力するだけで自動的にディクテーションを作れる機能が追加されました。YouTube側に字幕が用意されていれば、字幕も自動で入手できます。ただしこの機能はストリーミング専用なので、動画をローカルに保存して利用したい場合は、これまで通り以下の手順が必要です。

まず好きなYouTube動画のmp4ファイルを入手する。savethevideo.com等のサイトに、動画のURLを入力すればダウンロードできる。画質は360pで十分。
次にその動画のsrtファイル(字幕のテキスト)を入手する。今度はdownsub.com等のサイトを利用する。英語字幕と日本語字幕の両方が入手できる場合はそうする。サムネイル用の画像ファイルもあると一覧性が良くなる。
これらのファイルを、Files.appやiTunes等を経由してMediaDictの中にインポートする。あとは新しいDictationを作る画面で、各ファイルを指定するだけ。
私は普段TEDICTで勉強していますが、TEDICTはTEDの全動画を網羅してはいません。足りない動画はMediaDictに手動でインポートして補っています。同社のTUDICTでもYouTubeの利用はできましたが、TUDICTはストリーミング専用なのでレスポンスに難がありました。MediaDictならサクサク勉強できます。

- 使えなくなりました→改善しました 以前はよく使っていたのですが2021年2月頃からほぼ使えていません。
理由は動画内の広告を再生してしまうようになったからです。ページからページへ移動するたび広告を再生するか、または広告の読み込みに失敗して固まるようになってしまい、現在はとてもではないけど使い物になりません。
非常に良いアプリだっただけに残念でなりません。
2021年4月7日追記:開発者より広告はスキップできるとの返信がありました。迅速な返信に感謝します。固まる方はどうしようもありませんがその場合は一度戻るで戻ってからもう一度読み込むと大体治るように思います。
YouTube広告の鬱陶しさはともかくアプリは大変良いものなので高評価に戻しました。
To developers, thank you for the fast reply. As you told me, I was able to skip the ads, but I had to skip those hundreds of times in 10 minutes video. It is still a little inconvenient for me. Thank you.
