Chess variants are supported! Try them all:
- Crazyhouse: every time a piece is captured the capturing player gets a piece of the same type and of their color in their pocket.
- Chess960: pieces on the home rank are randomised.
- King Of The Hill: bring your king to the center to win.
- Threecheck: check the opponent king three times.
- Antichess: lose all your pieces to win.
- Atomic Chess: nuke the opponent.
- Horde: destroy the horde to win.
- Racing Kings: Race your king to the eighth rank to win.

- Two Server Related Crucial Bugs Encountered I loved the feeling of this app. It just felt so elegant and smooth.
Too bad the app is almost non-playable. I got locked out of my original account suddenly and can’t log in anymore. I created another account, but somehow the online matching doesn’t work. It works in the browser, but the experience is subpar compared to the app.
Encountering these two crucial bugs really made me lose faith in this app. I know it’s open source and I know it takes work to keep it stable, but still, these issues are fundamental to the game itself.
Contacting the devs just seemed too much of a hassle so I moved on to another app. I might use the Play With A Friend feature in the future, but online matchings are a no go.
- Lichess is a suck! Everything from the games to the tactics problems seem designed to piss off the players. Do lichess really want to promote chess? If so, why pander to the stronger players at the expense of the weaker ones? Even if I win a game, this site do never satisfy me. my opponents often said terrible things about me. If lichess dev really want to promote chess, I assure them that everything you are doing to promote chess is decidedly wrong!
