Fellow Grognard and Reader of Books I have met Ralph online a number of times as we are members of the same Grognard book club. I had not bothered to check out the podcast previously as the volume of options is generally overwhelming. Being a Finn it took an episode about Finn Family Moomintroll to take the plunge. On checking the list of episodes, one on The Dispossessed by Ursula K Le Guin leapt out and was immediately on the headphones, as Paul Mitchener was on as the special guest. I now have to read a lot more of the Hainish Cycle, now I know there are a score or more stories. I look forward to listening to the other podcasts on other favourite authors and films, as the discussion and production has been great thus far.
Finally, we got transcripts! I just wanted to say thank you for the recent update that added transcripts to the app. It is so helpful for us being ESL. Not only does it show notes, but you can also select a paragraph and have the audio play from that point. If only I could select a sentence or even a word and have the audio play from that point. I'm really looking forward to seeing further improvements. Still, this transcript feature makes this app the best podcast app out there.
Entire app library disappeared suddenly I’ve been using the podcast app for some years now and became especially fond of it during the pandemic. I probably listen to somewhere between one and four hours of podcasts a day and just this evening my entire library of podcasts that I’ve been listening to going back to the mid twenty teens suddenly disappeared and now I’m having to remember what shows I’ve listened to and have been listening to and trying to re-add them. Extremely disappointed and thinking to use a different app podcast player that will hopefully be safer than this. Really disappointed…
