Hopeless Service I always believed that you get what you see in Japan until I booked a room at this hotel. I booked a room at Hotel Mervielle Hakone Gora for 4 people (2 adults & 2 children aged 5 & 9) including breakfast through Agoda. However during my check in, I was informed by the hotel staff that only 2 adults are eligible to have breakfast & if the 2 children need to have breakfast then I need to cough up 5k each per child to have breakfast. While the room rent itself is 10k, only an idiot would spend another 10k on breakfast. How on earth can breakfast be allowed only for 2 people when there is a family of 4 on a holiday. secondly it’s extremely unfair to charge additional & that too at adult rate. I feel tricked by Agoda/Booking.com or the hotel (not sure who) into this trap. The room is very dark, seems very outdated with stuff broken. Regret booking at this hotel, I would strongly advice you to refrain from making your reservations here. The only plus seems the friendly staff, close proximity to Gora station. Overall left highly dissatisfied & disappointed
