Easy to use 使いやすいです, 外国パスポートでもOK The app is easy to use. With an iPhone 13 mini it took me under 5 minutes to scan in the details of my My Number card and my UK passport. My vaccination details appeared instantly on the 3rd completion step and all was accurate. The interface is in Japanese but is perfectly clear. It might be helpful to have English toggleable in the interface because residents of Japan are all on a different stage of their language learning journey. But long term residents of Japan have no excuse for not being able to read the Japanese interface. I was prepared for stress reading other reviews where users had experienced difficulties scanning in non Japanese passports but mine was completely fine, scanned instantly. My phone is a newer model maybe that is an issue for some users. But for me thankfully a positive experience overall.
Still not working with foreign passports One star reviews are reserved for utter trash of the application, this one is not in that category. It is surprisingly simple and functional for Japanese app. However I deducted 2 stars for the following things which were not addressed since version 1.04. - no English GUI. English is advertised as an option, I even selected English in the settings but the application language is still Japanese - OCR of foreign passport is non functional. Number 1 is detected as letter L and number 0 is detected as letter O. I’ve contacted them and apparently they did some OCR fixes in version 1.0.6, but the situation is the same for my passport. Issues persist in version 1.0.7 Update: version 1.08 still has the same issues UPDATE: Version 1.0.12 now correctly reads my overseas passport. Interfaces still only in Japanese except for the 海外用 part. I will increase the rating by 1 star.
