Hevy is a great tracking tool and a powerful motivator. Hevy is an excellent app for tracking your progress, setting up & tweaking routines as needed, and keeping the clutter out of your workouts.
Personally, I’ve found it an excellent motivational boost as well. Each workout tracks your total volume of weight moved, which adds up pretty quickly. When you finish that workout and it tells you you moved the equivalent of a helicopter or a pickup truck, that feels pretty empowering and helps even beginners boost their confidence.
Hevy is also a good way to keep you and your gym friends motivated and accountable by following each other’s workouts. The comments allow for banter, but the social aspect isn’t as intrusive as some other apps, which is appreciated.
Keep up the great work, Hevy team! 💪
Very good tool I spent a while trying one App after another, looking for the right combination of : simplicity, clean UI, and customisability and this was the solution.
Even without subscription you can create a limited number of customised workouts and assign body parts so you can track your target muscle groups and track your training composition.
The one thing I would have liked was more customisable workouts in the free version. However the fact they give you just enough in this super App will have you subscribing without begrudging it.
Best workout app hands down Before going for Hevy I tried other apps as well. Hevy won hands down for its simplified complexity. What I mean by that is you can go in depth in a lot of aspects of workout tracking very intuitively. For example you can sync with other apps in your phone (myfitnesspal and the health app for instance), extract raw data and run pivots as you please for those that like that; add new exercises in a few seconds, etc.
The one thing I’d ask the dev team is to add that same amount of flexibility and freedom in body measurement tracking as right now the user is limited to the tracking options that are given to him. There’s no umbilical, suprailiac and what not, so I have to record those in a separate spreadsheet, which sucks because I love this app so much I’d like to be able to do EVERYTHING within it. This is the one thing that prevents me from giving 5 stars (also I sent 2 emails to the dev email but they were ignored :( )
