Really great dictionary Can search in Japanese or English, draw kanji, search in romaji, anything. Also gives partial matches to your search and other related things that contain what you searched for, and if, for instance, you search for something with a particle in it that you didn’t realize was a particle, it will recognize it and give you the base word and the particle. Also gives literally all of the different conjugations for literally almost every single word. Present, past, positive, negative, everything. Also has example sentences for everything. Really an amazing app. Highly recommend.
Best of the Best I’m a foreigner working as a nurse in Japan for almost three years now. As someone who had to overcome the language barrier—especially with complex medical terms—learning Japanese has been a major challenge. However, this app has been a true game changer.
Thanks to this app, I was able to pass the Japanese nursing licensure exam in a short period of time, and I continue to use it daily at work. My review is long overdue, but I feel deeply grateful and want to express my sincere appreciation to the developers.

The single best dictionary app you will ever use I’ve been using the Jisho app since I was studying Japanese in college in 2019. I have continued to use this app and only this app since then, even in my career now as a teacher living in Japan. The real star of the show here is the ability to draw unfamiliar kanji with your finger to look them up- absolute lifesaver. Other than that, the definitions and translations are detailed enough to get a good sense for the word’s usage, and a lot of terms even have a bunch of example sentences to further help you get a feel for the context. I have never wanted another dictionary app, and I recommend it to everyone. Thank you, Jisho!
