After years of use I have been using this app for my Japanese language study journey since 2019 and I must admit is my go-to dictionary app no matter which device I am using. It has everything I need so that I don’t need any other apps. However, there are 2 constructive points I’d like to tell the dev for the app to be even better: 1) that there are certain “common” words that are displayed as such in the app but are not very common among natives. I would encourage you to update this accordingly as much as you possibly can, it would make the user’s experience very accurate and more productive! Why? So many times I have searched a word and when I use it with a native they didn’t even know the word and it’s displayed as common, but in reality they were using a different word that was not displayed as common, and it happens very often with many words that’s why I couldn’t give you a concrete example; 2) the section of flashcards has an interface I do really like, it’s very intuitive, clean and shows what you need very intuitively. The only point I’d like for you to take a look at is the system of the reviews per day. For instance, I am not quite sure how it organise them per week. If I were to start a flashcard session, there’s nowhere I can see how many I know, don’t know or how many are still a work I progress. I don’t want to use another app for this, since I like your interface and the simplicity you offer, so I am hoping the feedback helps to make it even better🙇🏻♂️ thank you for reading and I am looking forward to these improvements if you had the time!
Really great dictionary Can search in Japanese or English, draw kanji, search in romaji, anything. Also gives partial matches to your search and other related things that contain what you searched for, and if, for instance, you search for something with a particle in it that you didn’t realize was a particle, it will recognize it and give you the base word and the particle. Also gives literally all of the different conjugations for literally almost every single word. Present, past, positive, negative, everything. Also has example sentences for everything. Really an amazing app. Highly recommend.
Best of the Best I’m a foreigner working as a nurse in Japan for almost three years now. As someone who had to overcome the language barrier—especially with complex medical terms—learning Japanese has been a major challenge. However, this app has been a true game changer.
Thanks to this app, I was able to pass the Japanese nursing licensure exam in a short period of time, and I continue to use it daily at work. My review is long overdue, but I feel deeply grateful and want to express my sincere appreciation to the developers.
For fellow language learners, I highly recommend this app. It’s incredibly powerful and effective. I even passed the JLPT N2 with just this app as my main study tool. It truly works!
