MQA passthrough does not work Even when Mqa passthrough option enabled, the DAC receives OFS and does not work as a full-decoding device. It should show MQA when it is truly passthrough.
The Worst iOS Music App I’ve Ever Used This shouldn’t come as I surprise as their desk top app is also something of a dog.
Essentially this app is barely functional.
Loading music via the Finder is glacially slow and, because there’s no progress indicator, you’re never quite sure if you’re finished. Amarra Play will not recognize any files loaded by third-party apps such as iMazing which do let you know when you’re finished.
Trying to use it with CarPlay was equally futile. While it did occasionally play music, any attempt to skip tracks or change albums resulted in the app locking up and being useless until I restarted my car!
Rather than suffering through the frustration of trying to use this app, I’d recommend EverPlay. It sounds great and let’s you load Music via Wi-Fi which is much faster and easier.
