Great revival in terms of content but the App is broken After 4 years dormant jubeat plus has been transformed. This revamped app adds several hundred new songs. Content from AC jubeat clan and festo makes their mobile appearances here along with dozens upon dozens of song licenses and new ways to play the game. Unfortunately the transition does come with major caveats. Not every song from legacy jubeat plus returns and if you must play this new version you can’t keep the old app. The old app has been removed completely it cannot be downloaded anymore as of writing. If you bought certain packs from the old game, chances are they should crossover to the new app but there are several dozen song packs that are no longer sold which means they can’t be added to the new jubeat. There are 2 main modes to play, Normal Mode and Plus Mode. Normal mode is the free to play gacha stamina bar ridden portion of the game. You can play the game’s several hundred songs available for free but with heavy restrictions like a stamina bar that limits how many songs you can play. You also have to grind for experience points to gain more stamina and coins. The coins are used to buy gacha tickets which will unlock a song to play. And of course to cut some of the grind off Konami will gladly sell you jBlocks (currency you use to buy song packs you can keep on Plus Mode or trade those jBlocks for coins or stamina refills) with real world money. The Plus Mode portion of the game is the classic jubeat plus mode. In it are any remaining song packs that were on sale on the old jubeat plus along with over 30 new song packs as if the old app kept going after 2017. This portion of the app is where old songs players paid for would be available to play. Plus mode has no stamina gauge so you play for as long as you want. But do mind that plus mode also does not give you experience points and coins for normal mode. Song packs are now sold in jBlocks, you can spend real money on jBlocks to buy song packs. Initially the app was launched with major problems from broken songs, poor loading performance, and crashes. Patches have improved the game by a large factor. Along with performance the U/I has been tweaked to make settings much easier to navigate. But do mind the game is entirely in Japanese so it’s best to get your iPhone with a translator app to get started with the game. Overall this game is continuing to improve and I, excited for more new content for the future. There’s so many songs to play here even if they’re all locked under a gacha system but you can temporarily play any locked song by watching an advertisement.
