All that glitters... I’ve enjoyed playing Pandemic for years. I prefer physical board games to digital, but most of my friends are overseas, so. It’s the best digital version of a favorite board game I’ve ever played. Well, it was. The new look is lovely. I understand the reasoning behind many of the alterations. But for someone who knows the game back to front, the tips and checkpoints become irksome. I can’t see the whole world, sometimes not even the parts of it I’m being asked (repeatedly) to consider. It’s harder to get where I want to, how I want to. It feels like the creators got too many reviews from newbies who couldn’t figure things out, so now every game is a tutorial. Kudos, however, on including as event cards many activities we now know to have a real impact on an actual pandemic. I won’t stop playing, but neither will I stop missing the old format.
April 2020 update has ruined a classic Prior to the April 8th update, the Pandemic app was a prime example of a board game port done right - it was intuitive, easy to navigate and great fun.
The updated version isn't stable on my older iPad, and useability has been sacrificed for eye candy. It's such a shame to see a great game messed up like this, and I'd like the un-updated version made available again.
