Best JP dictionary app This app uses the JDict stuff publicly available, but it by far has the best interface of any dictionary I've used. I reference the conjugations and example sentences when I'm a little iffy on words I haven't used very much. One of my favorite features is the ability to write the character to look it up. This has been invaluable and saves so much time. There's also a wildcard feature to use "*" in combination with other kanji to find a word you don't completely remember. As someone living in Japan, this dictionary is my best friend and I recommend it whenever I can.
I'm actually writing this review because the author finally added the only feature I really felt was missing: pitch accents. Until now I've needed to listen to the audio clips or example sentences to work it out, or reference another application altogether, but this update has me thrilled. Thank you so much.
Really great dictionary Can search in Japanese or English, draw kanji, search in romaji, anything. Also gives partial matches to your search and other related things that contain what you searched for, and if, for instance, you search for something with a particle in it that you didn’t realize was a particle, it will recognize it and give you the base word and the particle. Also gives literally all of the different conjugations for literally almost every single word. Present, past, positive, negative, everything. Also has example sentences for everything. Really an amazing app. Highly recommend.
Shirabe Jisho This app is the best! You can even use it online. I would recommend this app to everyone who are studying Japanese You can use this app in some many ways. You can use it as a dictionary. You can use it with learning new kana and Kanji. It even has vocabulary and kanji for JLPT. You can make flashcards to learn Kanji or vocabulary. And you can make bookmarks for different categories and then save there the new word or kanji that you learn. This app has helped me so many times.
